Back in July, I picked up Dalegarn number 130, which at the time interested me as having a few great glove patterns, because back in July I knit my first pair of gloves and I thought that I was going to knit gloves gloves and more gloves, and I would need these patterns to help quell my glove passion. Needless to say, I have yet to make good on such a promise to myself, but the weather has made knitted accessories an urgent necessity so number 130 is my new best friend. I especially need a hat, and the greeny yellow on on the bottom of this page is what I've decided to make. I had a couple of skeins of the called-for Sisik in my stash (yes, that's the kind of stash I have) in a loden green, which happens to be good next to my ruddy complexion. I might have been planning this to knit this hat with this yarn, but I don't remember. d'uh . . . What day is it?
I have also been knitting away at a Mermaid Sock from Lucy Neatby's Cool Socks Warm Feet and while the pattern suggests that a self-striping yarn is particularly fun in this pattern, I had no way of anticipating the great diagonals the stripes in this version that would emerge. I just wish it knit up faster!
