You may have suspected this for awhile now, but I only woke to it yesterday: I will never be able to blog about any other sweater again. I am stuck in an semi-eternal struggle with this crazy thing. It is my purgatory. Escape now, while you can!
Last night, my husband and I shared a rare moment of parallel play on the kitchen counter. He has reached the moment of truth in his own personal project odyssey, a pair of amplifiers he has been alternately working on and shelving for as long as the Boy has been alive. The chassis's came back from the finishers this week, and he is very pleased with the resulting anodized colour. I think the red goes very nicely with the Insomnia Sweater. The two black things sitting on the chassis there, he would tell you, are two of his very rare Black UTC chokes that were made in a limited contract for RCA. That is why they are black. I know, huh? Black UTC transformers! How cool! That's like a mastodon tooth drop spindle, or copper-coloured fleece artist sock yarn. It's just not something you see everyday!
Try and contain yourselves. I know it's hard.

I never tire of reading about the Insomnia Sweater 'cuz it's so beautiful. Keep writing! I'll be back like a bad penny!

Honestly, woman, I just come here to gape and aspire to maybe someday ape. You could blog about the lint between your toes, and I'd find it compelling. The sweater, she is a-beautiful.

Mammoth Tooth drop spindle? Well isn't it nice you two could share some quality dork time - each in their own way. So, does he blog amplifiers?

Now I've seen everything...

Honestly? I have no idea what you're talking about. But anything that allows you and your husband to occupy the same space but work on different projects is a good good thing.

I just put myself on the Special Spindles Alert List.
Thanks for being a geek. Mwah.

Matching projects in geekdom. The commonalities that hold relationships together are astonishing.

I'm starting to feel that way about my Union Square sweater, which I've been working on for months now. I think the end is finally in sight, though, so don't give up! It really is looking great.

There IS no escape. And hell is other people. And. um...must be I can come up with another philosophical quote for that $$$$$$ I spent on my daughter's philosophy major....

I promise, I'll try to broaden my horizons and appreciate black UTC transformers. Really.

Oh, dear. That picture looks like my house. Except my husband mostly keeps the amplifiers he builds on his bench in the garage. He says to tell your husband that he has some black UTC chokes on the amplifier he has at his office. Who knew there was another couple like us? The sweater is gorgeous. The chassis, too.

I have no idea what are black UTC transformers but if you mention copper coloured fleece artist sock yarn, I think I get the picture.

Mammoth-tooth. Mastodons have STRAIGHT tusks and are forest browser types. Mammoths are for more open territory. Nonetheless, you guys rock both together and individually.

Oh, you tease - shared rare moment of parallel play on the kitchen counter?? I thought you were going X rated there!
Love those spindles! One look at Rhinebeck and I put myself on the list pronto before even one more person could be ahead of me!

Oh god. Those spindles are to die for. I'd love to have one, but I know I'd drop it, the klutz that I am.

Black UTC chokes! dude, that's like....OK I can't quite be convincing about it, but if it the same conceptually as copper coloured Fleece Artist...cool, man.

sorry- I can't contain myself- I just love the fact that you're both so into your own creative projects and passions. I love people who make with such interest and intensity (I hope that conveys what I mean...)
Congrats to both of you!
