Decreases, Stat!
The mittens are fine, thanks for asking.
I am starting the decreases on the second mitten, and once the thumb is done, I will dash over to Megan's and present them to her. She hasn't seen them yet, but thanks to Colleen and Johanna's glowing reviews on Sunday when Megan and I met them at the Bizarre Bazaar, she's a believer. ( I also glimpsed Claudia and Amber from afar, and got to catch up a little with Wendy.) You should see the gloves Megan's wearing in the meantime. A knitter would shed tears, they are such sad, decayed, threadbare little things. It's a mitten emergency if ever there was one.
Otherwise, I am making ready for a visit with my Mom in South Carolina. I will be flying with The Boy on Thursday, and we'll be back Monday. There is the question of what knitting to pack, and since I am still in IT mode, I need to make accurate calculation of the time/knitting continuum in my mother's house: a sum of the equation of the amount of family participation in The Boy's day, divided by the probability of hissy fits, a determinable number of potty breaks, snack time and meals, over the ratio of Grandparents to Grandson attention spans, plus time in the car and a chance that the Doodle Pad I have up my sleeve will keep him enthralled on the plane ride, to make sure that I have the optimum amount of knitting packed. Next in the Christmas queue, an adult version of the Pirate Hat for the Teenager, and a fetching chapeau for my friend Sue who admires my Dale Sisik Hat.

Dude, that's an INdeterminable number of potty breaks. Especially when said child is confronted with The Potty That I Haven't Seen Before. It will either mean a forced march requiring maximum supervision or, needing to go every fifteen minutes because the flush sounds different and that's Really Cool.

How did I not know about the B.B.?! Next year, I'm going.
Have a lovely time down South! It'll be a treat to get out of this bone-chilling cold, won't it?

Great to see you on Sunday.
I admire that Dale Sisik hat, too. It's perfect for keeping the ears warm and the hair tame.
Safe travels for you and The Boy.

What part of South Carolina? Are you a Carolina girl like me? West Columbia to be precise. The mittens are absolutely yummy, even if they don't come with donuts. Hey, that's an idea. Present the mittens to her in a Dunkin Donuts box! I'll bet they'd give you one if you show off the mittens.

Calculations worthy of an MIT PhD. Yikes. You do it right, you've earned it. The Ph.D. AND the knitting time.

That sounds like a lot of calculating re: the knitting time. Good luck with that. And have a nice visit!

What did you guys think? Did you enjoy the BB? Man, I just wish we would have gotten to "hang". I'm not sure what one does when they hang - but I am sure it must be fun.
