I fretted. I asked your opinion. I tried the i-cord. I ripped it out. I tried the garter stitch edging, with two rows, with four, with one. Ripped them all. I tried a rolling stockinette. Ripped that too. Sometimes a knitter just has to listent to the fabric and let it do what it wants to do, personal sartorial preferences aside. So a v-neck it is. Which I remember that you said you liked before I plowed ahead anyway. So maybe I should listen to you more from now on. I promise.

Doesn't this all remind you of your hair in high school? You wanted that flip so bad but your hair? Your hair was bone straight. The curlers, the uncomfortable nights perched on them. The hairspray, the curling iron. The droopy hair.
The cable pattern really call for a V neck (and it looks very good). Knit and Learn.

My personal sartorial preferences lean strongly in the v-neck direction, so I applaud your decision. So, if the sweater needs a new home, you know where to look. Just sayin'.

If I were an extremely snide person I would at this point mutter something like "no she won't, she'll just keep doing it her way." It takes one to know one.
