Custom crafted spinning wheels are rare birds and getting rarer, but there are glimmers of hope here and there, and Norm Parks is one of them. Norm builds a beautiful little wheel which I first saw at Rhinebeck a few years ago, and has continued to develop it from the feedback of the many spinners who have clamored for one. He calls it the Spinaway, but it's also known as the Holiday wheel.
The wait list for one is currently approaching three years, but he has one on ebay at the moment as a fundraiser for the American Diabetes Association Tour De Cure event. It's a particularly beautiful version of the Spinaway, with curly maple inlays.
I just thought you'd like to know.

Gosh, that's beautiful.

I still get upset everytime I think of the hatchet job the USPS/UPS did on the delivery of your custom wheel. Did that get repaired?
