Irish Moss
From Alice Starmore's Aran Knitting, knit in Silky Wool, on size 4's and 5's. The unorthodox yarn choice was to accomodate the wearer's request for a *light* sweater. The silky wool worked up to gauge very well, making a drapey and relatively open fabric, yet with a crisp stitch definition that really complimented the pattern. I also made the sweater a size larger than the biggest size in the book (yet with less ease that Starmore usually allows for) for my 6'4" guy by simply adding stitches through the side panels, and made a larger neck opening by his preference.
