This is not the yarn I am looking for. It is the other pink yarn from the other argyle sock. The other argyle sock has been getting lots of attention since the other pink yarn appeared, magically, from the bottom of one of the knitting piles I had searched countless times already. The other argyle sock is number one on my hit list for getting things off the needles.
This is not the yarn I am looking for. It is a serene combination of pink and creamsicle orange sock yarn from Julie of J-Knits and my Local carries some. Alison has been touting Julie's work for awhile, and I've been listening. Resisting -- as I have been -- any additions to the sox box, I finally caved for this pair, because really, now that there is this one last addition, I cannot close the lid. I am not allowed to cast on for these socks, pattern to be determined, until I finish this pair:
This is not the yarn I am looking for. It is the completed first sock from the Pine Star Studio yarn Linda sent me. It's a Lucy Neatby pattern from her Cool Socks Warm Feet and while I can't wear the ruffly cast-on with jeans, they will look very cute with a gamboling-about-town skirt, peaking over the tops of my Docs. (hear that? That sound is the whimper of my mother cringing)
Nor is this the yarn I am looking for. It is the Skacel Merino lace weight that I am saving for Miriam's Icarus shawl, or Anne's Wing of the Moth. While this lace weight has no particular heavy duty provenance to it, nor is it hand-dyed or hard won, it is a potent shade of jade I have never seen in a lace weight before, and I thought it impossible to pass up. It invokes mysteries, painted elephants, genie smoke, and the intoxicating musks and magic of a bygone bazaar. I must wrap myself in something knit from it soon. But not until I finish some of the things I am knitting.
Like the arrrgyles. But this is the yarn that I am looking for. It is around here somewhere. It is pink. It is Kroy. It must be found because I only need about 3 feet worth of it to finish the last diamond before I seam the back and head into the heel flap.
Damn I wish I could find it.
Since I'm now under direct orders from my boss to walk more to relieve stress and stop my whining about my weight, I'll check Romni for you tomorrow.
Damn I love those socks...

I wish the hell I could find the link to a t-shirt that said "Ceci n'est pas une peep" with a Marshmallow Peep on it. I hate Peeps but the t-shirt was priceless.
My mother and your mother have something in common, I see...my mother would like to know where a nearly-forty-year-old woman gets off wearing Docs in the first place. And with a skirt. Aie.
Which only serves to remind me that my current Docs are worn out and I need a new pair :-)

You are hilarious and dangerous. More hilarious than dangerous but it's hard to tell when you'll cross that line.

I can hear your mother cringing all the way down here. But if she ever tried them on...

I love how all the other yarns aren't the ones you're looking for, but yet they keep making an appearance. That Skacel Merino yarn is gorgeous.

Peep love here: http://www.flickr.com/photos/ranjit/248734/ - this lovely person is also selling them, hand silk-screened :)

Your arrgyles are looking great! I am 6 rows into the pattern on mine. How often do you "twist" the MC into the other diamond colors? This is my first attempt so I was doing it every time (twisting the MC behind the current color) but that left the MC peeping through. So I've started twisting every 3rd or 4th stitch. Hopefully that will look better!

Better Docs than stupid girly shoes that throw your body out of alignment, alter the physiology of your lower legs, and prevent you from walking normally.
I bet she won't buy it, though.
Wonder if they carry Kroy at a certain yarn mecca in the westerly parts of the state?

Arrr I love those socks -- good luck finding the yarn is it in the house or are you out? If it is in the house I feel your pain, I have searched for a certain yarn for ages and I still can't figure out what I did with it -- and once I find it, the pattern will go missing. maybe it is the borrowers

I loooove the description of the laceweight. I'm there in spirit.

Good luck finding the kroy - hopefully it will show itself soon!

Docs + skirt = fasion EXCELLENCE!
Take THAT, Mom!
(That is the sound of MY mother weeping into her pillow because I will never, not even once, dress like a normal person -- she doesn't understand that I TRY and it still doesn't work.)
Seriously, the yarn MUST be there somewhere. My fingers are crossed that you find it soon!

Good luck finding the right yarn. Lovin' the rest of them, though ^_^

Have you tried Herrschners (sp?) for the Kroy I know they carry it.

Windsor Button carries Kroy.
I have to stop by Windsor Button on the way home this evening.
What are the odds?
Did I mention yet that Rick has asked for argyle socks?

Maybe the pink yarn is in the same hiding spot as the sparkling handspun green. I'm just sayin'.

I am so in love with your arrrgyle socks. For those, I will finally give up my hatred (read: fear) of charts, and make 4 pairs. One for me, and 3 for my best and craziest friends. But why, oh why, does the male have to wear size 15 shoes??
Oh, yeah. Cuz fate's a ...you-know-what.

You have wonderful taste in socks and yarn! The ruffles will definitely look very cute with your boots.

Where do I find the Wings of the Moth pattern you keep talking about? I love the name . . .
